Data Protection

Data protection declaration

Welcome to our website. Thank you for your interest in our company and products. The protection of your privacy when processing personal data is important to us and we ensure it throughout all of our business processes. You can generally use our website without providing specific personal data. We process personal data, which is automatically collected when you visit our website, in accordance with the data protection regulations of the European Union and the applicable German Data Protection Act (Datenschutzgesetz). Information on the collection of anonymous and personal data is provided below. Any personal data collected on our website (such as name, company, address and e-mail address) is always entered on a voluntary basis insofar as possible. We do not transfer this data to third parties without your explicit consent. Our website may contain links to third-party provider websites which are not covered by this data protection declaration.

Scope of the processing of personal data

We generally only collect and use the personal data of users to the extent required for providing a fully functional website. Access logs of the web server record what page impressions took place at what time. They contain the following data: IP, directory protection log in, date, time, accessed pages, protocols, status code, quantity of data, referer, user agent, accessed hostname. IP addresses are stored anonymously: the last block of digits is removed, e. g. 127.0.0.1 is changed to 127.0.0.x. IPv6 addresses are also anonymized. Information about the directory protection log in is anonymized after one day. Error logs recording faulty page impressions are deleted after seven days. They include error messages, the accessing IP address and the accessed website (depending on the error). Other personal data is only stored if provided by you on a voluntary basis, e.g. as part of a registration, poll, application or for the purpose of executing an agreement. We only collect and use the personal data of our users once we have their consent to do so, unless obtaining such consent in advance is impossible for practical reasons and we are legally permitted to process the data.

Legal basis for the processing of personal data

Please refer to Section 6 of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) as the legal basis for the processing of personal data.

Use and transfer of personal data and appropriation

We only use your personal data to the extent necessary for the purpose of technical website administration and marketing. We only transfer personal data to government agencies and authorities in accordance with national statutory provisions. We have obliged our employees to maintain secrecy.

You can configure your browser to inform you about the installation of cookies and allow cookies only as a one-off, exclude the acceptance of cookies in certain cases or in general and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. Deactivating cookies may limit the functionality of this website.

Matomo

The website uses Matomo, a software for statistical analysis of the visitors who access the site, which we operate ourselves on our own web server. Matomo uses cookies, which are saved to your computer and enable anonymised analysis of your use of the website. The data cannot be traced back to a certain person or entity, as your IP address is rendered anonymous immediately after processing and before saving takes place. In Germany, the legal basis for the processing of personal data using cookies is Art. 6 Sec. 1 lit. f General Data Protection Regulation.

Matomo is used for the purpose of improving the quality of our website and its contents. With the help of these data, we can determine how the website is used and can thus continuously optimize product and service portfolio. The cookies used by Matomo are saved to the User’s computer and are transmitted to our website from there. You, the User, therefore have full control over the use of cookies. Cookies that have already been saved to your computer can be deleted at any time. This can even be done automatically.

You can rescind the storage and analysis of these data by Matomo at any time. In that case, a so-called opt out cookie is permanently placed in your browser, which instructs Matomo not to collect any data whatsoever for storage and analysis. However, if you delete this cookie, whether on purpose or accidentally, your opt-out of the saving and analysis of your data is canceled and can be reset via the above-mentioned link. Most modern browsers, however, have a so-called „Do not track“ option, with which you instruct websites not to track your user activities. Matomo respects this option.

Vimeo

Our website uses Vimeo plug-ins. Vimeo is operated by Vimeo, LLC with head office in 555 West 18th Street, New York, New York 10011, USA. If you visit one of our web pages containing a Vimeo plug-in, a link is created to the Vimeo servers and Vimeo is informed about which of our web pages you have visited. If you are logged into your Vimeo account, you enable Vimeo to allocate your surfing behaviour to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your Vimeo account. For further information on the use of user data, please read the data protection policy of Vimeo at: https://vimeo.com/privacy.

SSL encryption

This page uses SSL encryption for security and to protect the transfer of confidential contents, such as requests, you send to us, the website operator. You can recognize an encrypted connection by the address field of your browser changing from "http://" to "https://" and the lock symbol in your browser field. When SSL encryption is activated, data that you transfer to us cannot be read by third parties.

Security

Your data managed by us is protected against deletion, loss, manipulation and unauthorised access by the implementation of suitable technical and organizational security measures. These security measures are improved on an ongoing basis to reflect technological progress. Please note that data transfer via the internet (e.g. e-mail communication) can have security gaps. It is impossible to provide 100% protection against third-party access.

Data deletion and storage period

The personal data of affected persons is deleted, blocked or anonymized as soon as the purpose for the storage no longer applies. The data may be stored after such time if stipulated in union rules, laws or other regulations to which the responsible entity is subject and which have been prescribed by the European or national legislators. However, should a storage period prescribed by the above standards expire, the data is also blocked or deleted, unless it is still required to be stored for the conclusion or fulfilment of agreements.

Right to information deletion and blocking

You may, at any time, request free-of-charge information on your stored personal data, its origin and recipient and the purpose for which it is being processed, and also have the right to request for this data to be corrected, blocked or deleted.
