Leading Sports Car Manufacturer Orders Eight Test Bench Gearboxes

Test benches are indispensable in research and development in order to take innovative products to the production stage. The requirements often reach the limits of what is technically feasible. RSGetriebe breaks fresh ground in the manufacture of test bench gearboxes in order to fulfill these demands.

RSGetriebe has set the bar even higher in the area of testing high-performance combustion engines for the automotive industry. A leading manufacturer of sports cars ordered eight test bench gearboxes for its new, state-of-the-art testing center.

The gearboxes are characterized by a compact design and high power density. In addition, they are very flexible: the design layout can be used with many different motor configurations. The housing is made of die-cast aluminum, reducing the weight of the gearbox to a minimum, so it can easily be adapted to various axle levels. At a performance of 750 kW, the gearboxes cover a broad range of speeds up to 12,000 min^-1 and torques up to 1,300 Nm.

In the course of the past few years, RSGetriebe has established itself as an expert in the area of test bench applications. Both classic motor test benches and e-mobility are available as standard applications. The portfolio ranges up to 24.000 min^-1 with anti-friction bearings; with slide bearings, projects up to 120.000 min^-1 have successfully been realized.
